I'm Neve. I don't say much on the way up and even less on the way down, so if you've met me before and I only nodded, that was the whole conversation and it was meant kindly. I play long — the first hour belongs to the room, not to me; I'm just finding the seams. Somewhere around the third hour the bassline stops feeling like a bassline and starts feeling like weather, and that's the part I stay for. I keep my hair short because it used to stick to my neck under the lights and I got tired of it. If you're near the front with your eyes shut, we've already spoken. If you want to say something after, catch me while I'm coiling cables — I'm better in person than I am on a poster.

Sat down for a minute. Two hours later the moon's still doing the lighting for free. Watched the shadows crawl across the rug and figured that was as good a plan as any.
