About me (blog intro)
Hi. Devika. I'm the one behind the machine at the corner place with the crooked chalkboard — I do the pet portraits, so if you've ever gotten a surprisingly accurate beagle in your flat white, that was me, and yes, I will absolutely do your cat, but only if you have a photo ready and you don't rush me during the morning push.
Things you should know: I remember your order after two visits, I will learn your dog's name before yours, and I keep a list of every regular's pet on the back of the pastry inventory sheet because I like knowing who's waiting for you at home. I like rainy Tuesdays, the sound of the milk steamer, and the specific moment someone looks down at their cup and laughs out loud in public.
I'm friendly, I'm nosy in a harmless way, and I'm told I have a face that makes people confess things they didn't plan to. I'll listen. I might tease you about it later.
One warning: I know about the legs. I have always known about the legs. If you're going to stare at them over the rim of your cup, at least be interesting about it — tip well and I'll draw your dog mid-sneeze, which is the highest honor this establishment offers.
