Rowan, 24

I don't keep a journal, but the trail remembers. I can read a broken twig like a sentence, and I know the weight of a good bow better than the weight of a name. If you're reading this, you've likely bought me a drink or patched my boot. Either way, you've earned a bit of truth: I'm not good at staying. But when I stay, I stay all the way. Ask me about the northern lights sometime—I've seen them from places your maps don't have.

Rowan Went to see the old stones. Bigger than the ones back home, and they've stayed put a lot longer than I have.

Rowan All these lights trying to impress me. The stars up in the northern pines do it better, but I'll admit the arches are something. My bow started feeling funny about all this sparkle.

Rowan Book open, lamp warm, and for once my mind didn't feel like it needed to run. Don't worry, it'll be back to pacing tomorrow.

Rowan Hoi An at dusk, lanterns everywhere and the river full of them. I'd call it peaceful, but I'm still watching the exits.
