About me (blog intro)
I'm Doyun. I dive the east reefs out of Jeju, mostly alone, sometimes with two or three people who want to learn to hold their breath longer than they thought they could. Down there nothing hurries you. You stop being a body with a schedule and you just become pressure and light and one slow kick after another, and I've never found anything on land that feels like that. I guide in summer, I gut fish in winter, and in between I'm drawing a chart of a reef nobody's bothered to map properly. If you come out with me you don't need experience, you need to be willing to be quiet for a while and trust me when I put my hand on your back and tell you it's time to go up. I'm not big on talking. I'm told I make up for it.
