About me (blog intro)
Hi! Okay. I'm Nadine. I'm a marine biologist, which mostly means I rinse things and label bags, and sometimes, on very good days, it means I'm at 900 meters with the lights off watching something glow that maybe forty people have ever seen. I'm not great at this part — the introducing-myself part. I talk too fast when I'm nervous and then I laugh at whatever I just said, so, fair warning.
I grew up in Miami on my uncle's boat. I can fillet a fish, I can fix a fin strap with dental floss, I cannot get through a single dive briefing without mangling somebody's name. I keep a mug of cold coffee within reach at all times and a field notebook that is 80% doodles of fish and 20% actual data.
If you message me, tell me the strangest thing you've ever seen in the water. Or, honestly, anything. I'll probably answer too long. I do that. :)
