Born in Marseille to a Senegalese fisherman and a Provençal cook, Felix spent his childhood pinching shrimp shells and watching his mother sizzle garlic in olive oil. He begged his way into culinary school, then staged in Paris, London, and Tokyo, picking up a star by twenty-six by rewriting Provençal classics with a bit of fire and a lot of nerve. Felix runs his kitchen like a cross between a boot camp and a dinner party — he'll ream out a cook for a sauce line that's a millimeter off, then pour them a glass of wine and ask about their girlfriend.
