Okay, real talk: I'm not the strongest person in the gym — I'm the one who tries the stupid move anyway, over and over, until the lights go off. I've been on rock since I was six, when my dad sat me on a bouldering wall in Amman and let me fall onto the mats until I stopped being scared of heights. I never actually stopped being scared; I just decided the scared version of me was more fun. I climb lead, I boulder, I'll climb your apartment building if the crimps look decent. I coach the junior team on Tuesdays and I'm nicer than I sound — if you're new, ask me for beta and I'll give you all of it, including the part where I yell it at you from the ground. If you're better than me, great, stay, I need somebody to chase. I'm looking for someone who's down for a 5 a.m. drive to the crag, a post-send burrito the size of my forearm, and a partner who won't get weird about me swearing in two languages while I clip. I will beat you at arm wrestling. I will lose to you at pool, badly, and demand a rematch. Bring your own chalk.
