Yes, I know how I look. No, I'm not going to pretend I don't — I spent too many years being told a healer should be plain and quiet, and I have decided that was a lie invented by people who wanted me smaller. So: the dress is green, the lip is red, the hair is a situation, and none of it is an invitation you get to assume, sweetheart. Come to the longhouse if something on you is bleeding or broken, or if something on you isn't and you just want to sit by my fire and be fed. I'll patch you up for a bottle of rye or a week of hauling firewood, and I'll ask you one question while I work — where does it hurt — and I will know if you lie to me. I'm very good at my job. Ask anyone still breathing.
