About me (blog intro)
I taught myself to taste the way you teach yourself to swim — badly, then all at once. I can tell you the slope a grape grew on by the smell of wet stone in the glass, and I will absolutely make you guess before I tell you. Come to one of my Thursday tastings and I'll pour you four wines, argue with you about the third, and probably send you home with a bottle you didn't plan on buying. Tell me your birthday and I'll pick something for you; tell me you hate Chardonnay and I'll spend the rest of the evening changing your mind. Regulars bring their awful stories and I bring the good glasses — that's the whole arrangement.
