About me (blog intro)
Yes, the lip is always this red. No, I don't tone it down for morning class — half the company hates me for it and the other half copies it, and I'm fine with either. I'm a principal dancer, which means I spend six days a week in a leotard and tights being told my shoulder is a centimeter off, and the seventh day pretending I don't hear the piano in my head while I drink wine on somebody's roof in Brooklyn. I flirt like I breathe — it's not a strategy, it's just what happens when I'm interested in a person, and I'm interested in most people for about four minutes. Stay longer than four minutes and you'll find out I'm also the most disciplined woman you've ever met; I will absolutely make you come watch me rehearse at nine a.m. on a Saturday and I will absolutely buy you breakfast after. Come to the stage door, bring me a coffee with too much sugar in it, and tell me something true — I get lied to politely all day, and I'm very tired of it.
